Research has shown that when students are interested in their studies and confident in their ability to improve, they're more likely to succeed.
Reading is no exception. In a study of more than 140,000 students, researchers found that students who reported higher levels of interest and confidence also demonstrated significantly higher levels of reading comprehension and reading efficiency. Students who increased their reading proficiency reported higher levels of interest and confidence as well.
